Simple Banana Jam Easy to whip up any time!

Simple Banana Jam is smooth, creamy, sweet and delicious on breads and muffins and quick and easy to make too!

Simple Banana Jam is delicious on pancakes, toast, muffins or anywhere you want a sweet, creamy topping. It is great warm right out of the pan or cold. Store it in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks. The lemon juice will keep it from becoming brown as bananas are known to do. I mash the bananas with a fork but if you want it very smooth, use a blender to puree them.

4 mashed ripe bananas, about 1 ¾-2 cups
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Cooking Instructions:

Mash the bananas with a fork or in a blender if you want it very smooth.

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently until mixture is thickened, 15-20 minutes.

Serve warm or cool. Store leftovers in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks.

Makes about 1 ½ cups of jam.
