Guacamole

A simple, creamy, delicious Guacamole recipe!

Ahh, Guacamole! How can something so smooth and creamy and delicious be so good for you too? It is the best of everything.  Making your own guacamole is so simple; just mash up an avocado, mix in lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder and salt, stir it up and there you go.  Do it in the last few minutes before serving dinner.  I have read that putting the seed in it may help it last longer in the refrigerator; I don’t know if that is true.  The lemon juice will help a little bit but you do want to use it as soon as possible; right away is best.  We don’t ever have any trouble cleaning it up.  For each avocado you use–what this recipe calls for–you will get about 1 cup of guacamole.

Instructions
  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. Cut your avocado in half and then quarters. The seed will pop right out and you can easily peel the skin from the flesh.
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork.
  4. Put in bowl and add lemon juice, onion and garlic powders and salt. Stir well to combine. This will make about 1 cup of guacamole. Use it right away. It does not keep well.
