How to cut a cabbage

How to cut a Cabbage; Step by Step Guide to Slice or Chop a Cabbage including pictures and video. Recipes and nutrition facts for cabbage also included!

How to cut a cabbage may seem basic to some but others may wonder “what in the world do I do with this?”  This is for you.

Cabbage is one of my favorite vegetables.

It is also an inexpensive vegetable and one that can last in the refrigerator for more than a few days without going bad.

It is just a great vegetable!

Per cup of chopped cabbage, there are only 22 calories, 5 g of carbs and 2.2 g of fiber for 2.8 net carbs.

Depending on what website you look at, whether you are measuring a cup of chopped, shredded or cooked and whether you are eating green, red/purple, white or another type like Nappa, the carb counts could vary some between 2-3 net carbs.

For all of the nutrition and flavor it gives, those are carbs well spent!

There are so many great recipes for cabbage but they don’t do much good if you aren’t sure about how to prepare it!

Now, How to cut it

To cut a cabbage, first wash your cabbage and take off outer leaves that may be brown or wrinkled.  You don’t want those.

Lay it on its side and cut off the bottom.
