Game Day Football Deviled Eggs

Game Day Football Deviled Eggs

These Game Day Football Deviled Eggs will be great fun at your next tailgating party! You will be “on your game” serving these!

Game Day Football Deviled Eggs are the perfect thing to serve for the big game or any football related event! Being able to do some of the prep work ahead of time makes them super easy to make too!

It is helpful that they are low carb and gluten free so almost anyone can eat them.

I use my Best Ever Deviled Eggs recipe as the base for these Game Day Football Deviled Eggs because well, they really are the best. They are not fancy and go well with the ketchup too.

Boil and peel the eggs the day ahead for quicker assembly when you need them.

If you are wondering about eating ketchup on your deviled egg, I was too. There is such a tiny amount on each one though, you can barely taste it and it just gives it a little tang. It is good! 😊

Can I make Game Day Football Deviled Eggs ahead of time?

The filling can be mixed up ahead of time if needed but I don’t recommend putting it into the whites too far ahead. It is best to do that step as close to serving as possible. You will definitely want to assemble the footballs at the last minute.

How do I store Game Day Football Deviled Eggs

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

How do I get my eggs to peel nicely?

When making deviled eggs, you absolutely want your eggs to peel nicely without half of the egg sticking to the shell. Some will add things to their water as they boil. Some use their instant pot. I don’t do either. My “secret” is ice water after they boil. If you would like step by step instructions with a video, see this post; How to Make Easy to Peel Hard Boiled Eggs.

Key Ingredients

(Full printable ingredients and instructions are just below.)

ingredients for Game Day Football Deviled Eggs

hard boiled eggs-we use regular large eggs

Deviled Ham spread

Mayonnaise—any brand you prefer is fine. I am talking about mayonnaise in the recipe, not Miracle whip. If you prefer that, it is fine but the deviled eggs will be sweeter than this recipe. If that is how you prefer your deviled eggs, use that.

Vinegar—I used white vinegar for this recipe but you can use any kind you prefer. The purpose is just to give it a bit of a zip. If you use Miracle Whip, you may not even need the added vinegar.

Mustard-just a basic yellow mustard was used for this recipe but again, use what you like.

Salt- we use sea salt but any salt is fine.

ketchup-we use Heinz at our house but use what you like. Sugar free or reduced sugar would even be fine.

Mix the deviled ham spread, mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard and salt with yolks.

Scoop yolk mixture back into egg white halves.

Spread it out and flat into the shape of the egg and of a football.

Spoon ketchup into one corner of a sandwich bag.

Very carefully cut off the very (very-very!) end of the bag corner. You want the teeniest stream of ketchup to come out.

Test your ketchup stream on a paper towel or bowl. If it is too big of a hole, simply transfer to the other corner and try again.

Draw thin lines to make the lines on the football eggs.

Draw one slightly curved line on each end of the egg.

Then draw one line down the center of the egg.
