Gumdrop Fudge

Gumdrop Fudge

This 5 ingredient Gumdrop Fudge is festive and delicious! No one will guess how easy it is to make! It can even be made ahead of time!

Gumdrop Fudge is a favorite on our holiday table! I love to make a big plate of cookies and fudge and this is a beautiful addition!

Our Christmas celebrations are not as “out and about” as they used to be. Back then, I would take one of those plates to several different places and also make dozens of candy tin gifts. I made a lot of cookies and fudge! This gumdrop fudge was one of the regulars!

Fudge is one of my favorite treats to make for the holidays because people love it, it can be made ahead and it is easy! I was so surprised when I first realized how easy it was!

Now you are in on that secret!

This recipe has been shared in Weekend Potluck. Head on over to this great site for LOTS of new recipes each week!

The Gumdrops

Dots gumdrops come in a 6.5 ounce box. Cutting them all in half gives you a little over a cup of gumdrops and that worked very well.

I have also used a 16 ounce bag of fruit slices and chopped them up.

The amount of gumdrops in the recipe does not have to be exact, nor does the exact kind of gumdrops. Just so you have about 1 to 1 ½ cups of chopped gumdrop-type candy, you will be good!

Can it Be Made Ahead of Time

Yes, it sure can! It will wait patiently in the refrigerator or in the freezer.

Can This Be Frozen

Yes! Fudge freezes well.

Just put it in an airtight container; some plastic wrap around it inside for extra protection is great, and put it in the freezer.

I have frozen it for a few weeks ahead and it tastes fresh for the holidays and when we had leftovers, I have frozen it for even a few months after.
