Other Recipes We Love:

Some other treats we love for special occasions are One Net Carb Soft Jello Holiday Cookies, Keto Chocolate Peppermint Bark, Easy Keto Peppermint Fudge and Keto Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

The Drinks:

I used the Walmart brand and Huckleberry flavor for this recipe but you have so many options. If you shop somewhere other than Walmart, use the ICE drinks; the brand name of Clear American. We just love the Huckleberry flavor so used this brand. There are other flavors that are red that will work.

Sparkling ICE drink black raspberry in store

Also, the Huckleberry has 2 carbs per bottle and most of the ICE drinks have 0 carbs so if you use an ICE drink, your punch will have .75 net carbs per 4oz serving instead of 1.1 net carb.  That is even better!

What Holidays and Special Occasions can this recipe be used for?

As stated above, use whatever flavor and brand of drink you like and if you use the apple flavor, you will have a pretty fall colored holiday punch.

If you use the citrus greenish colored drink, you will have a green one for St. Patrick’s Day. (Note that I did add a drop of green food color to this for more of a green color. It was a light green without it but I wanted it to “pop” for the picture.)

There are cucumber watermelon and pink grapefruit that are pink for a baby shower even! We can have all kinds of fun with this! You would want to leave out the strawberries and maybe exchange them for something else or just do without; your choice.

The Ice Cream:

Breyers makes two similar ice creams; no sugar added and carb smart. If you look at the labels (I included them below for you to do so), you will see that the carb smart has fewer carbs, even though no sugar added sounds like a good option too. The no sugar added also has no fiber so if you are counting net carbs, you can’t deduct fiber so that ice cream has 9 net carbs per servings instead of 4 net carbs per serving like the carb smart. I used the carb smart for this recipe.

The Strawberries:

Strawberries do have 0.9 carb per medium berry (and 0.2 fiber so 0.7 net carb) so I did try to keep from using too many in the recipe. One way to do that is to slice them thinly and space them out. They can still look pretty and be tasted throughout without the carbs adding up too quickly. If you are not too worried about the carbs, feel free to add more berries and garnish each cup with a whole berry.

Can You Make this Holiday Punch Ahead of Time?

Because of the fizz in the drinks and the ice cream, it is not recommended to make this ahead of time. Sitting for 30-60 minutes or so does blend the ingredients and melts the ice cream into the drink just enough to make it yummy but too much more and it will lose its best flavor. Fresh is best for this recipe.

Can u add alcohol? If so, what works best?

Hi Donna, I have not tried adding alcohol, so don't know for sure exactly how it would taste but I don't know why it wouldn't work. I would suggest a 0 carb and punch friendly alcohol like rum or vodka; whichever you prefer and to taste. It would dilute the carbonation of the Ice drink but that may not be an issue. You may like to try it in one cup at a time; make a bowl of punch and add the alcohol to an individual cup to try it. That is what I do when I am not sure of something and want to try it without committing to a whole batch of it. If you try it, let me know what you do and how you like it! :)
