Can it Be Made Ahead of Time

Yes, it sure can! It will wait patiently in the refrigerator or in the freezer.

Can This Be Frozen

Yes! Fudge freezes well.

Just put it in an airtight container; some plastic wrap around it inside for extra protection is great, and put it in the freezer.

I have frozen it for a few weeks ahead and it tastes fresh for the holidays and when we had leftovers, I have frozen it for even a few months after.

How to Store Fudge

Store covered at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

The Candy Canes

If you are making this off season or can’t find candy canes for some reason, starlight mints are a great substitution for the candy canes.

How to Crush the Candy Canes

The best way I have found to crush candy canes is to put them into a Ziploc bag then gently bang them with the flat side of a meat tenderizer or side of a hammer while the bag is on a cutting board. That protects your table or counter.
