We have several delicious hamburger recipes that we love but sometimes I just want to make a plain version. I came up with this Simple Recipe for Hamburgers and we couldn’t be happier with them!
These have just enough flavor that they aren’t too plain but don’t have a lot of extras added into the meat. They cook up nicely without falling apart too so the cook appreciates that!

To Serve in a Low Carb Bun:
Simple Hamburgers are delicious served in a lettuce “bun” or on a 90 Second Low Carb Keto Bread as pictured. I made that recipe with the coconut flour and toasted it. Toasting it makes ALL the difference in just ok bread and really good bread. It made a very nice bun for my burger that was so quick and easy to make up when I was the only one that wasn’t eating a regular bun.
Can you Make this Simple Recipe for Hamburgers Ahead of Time?
Yes! If you wish to make your burgers ahead of time, place them on a plate so they are not touching and put wax paper or parchment paper between layers. Wrap with securely with plastic wrap until ready to cook. Make up to 8 hours ahead.
How do I store leftovers?
Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for several days or freeze.
Tips for juicy burgers:
Don’t overhandle the meat. Combine the ingredients well but don’t overdo it.
Flip only once while cooking. Whether on the grill or in a skillet, one flip is all you want. It is that overhandling thing again.
Don’t press the juices out of the burgers with the flipper while they are cooking. Releasing juice from the burgers obviously will make them less juicy.
Ingredients:

ground beef
egg
dried minced onion
Worcestershire sauce
salt
black pepper
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a bowl.

Mix thoroughly but don’t overmix. That is what makes hamburgers tough.
Divide meat into 4 portions.

Shape into 4 patties.

Make an indent into middle of each patty.

Grill over medium high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, flipping once. They can also be cooked in a skillet over medium high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, flipping once.

Yield; 4 hamburgers

What is the purpose of making an indent in the hamburger patty before cooking?? Love your recipes and all your work. Thumbs up.

Hi Suzanne, thank you so much for the compliment--much appreciated! :) The purpose of the indent is to help the patty hold its shape and keep the burger from puffing up while it cooks. My burgers used to have a big bulge in the middle until I learned this trick. They still taste the same; they are just shaped better after cooking. :)
