Keto Sausage Pizza Bites; The flavors of pizza in a delicious Keto and gluten free bite; perfect for parties, appetizers or snacks! Ready in 30 minutes and only 1 net carb each!
We have loved Low Carb Gluten Free Sausage Balls for years. We love them for appetizers, snacks or breakfast; especially while traveling. It just made sense to make a variation so we can eat them even more often! Here are Keto Sausage Pizza Bites! And wow, are they a hit!
I changed the cheese, added pepperoni pieces and offered marinara sauce to dip them into and they are absolutely amazing pizza bites! My family gobbled them up!
These Keto Sausage Pizza Bites will be perfect for New Year’s Eve, Super Bowl night, parties, buffets, brunches, picnics, or any time we want a pizza type snack. We have even had them for lunch. Yum!
The parmesan cheese:
I use the parmesan in the green canister. I know some feel it is not the best choice for Keto with “cellulose powder to prevent caking” but it does a great job of holding the pizza bites together. Freshly grated parmesan would not do the job as well.
And, “Cellulose is a non-digestible plant fiber, and we actually happen to need non-digestible vegetable fiber in our food—that’s why people eat bran flakes and psyllium husks,” says Jeff Potter, author of Cooking for Geeks.
I personally think a little bit here and there is OK. One half cup of the cheese (with a tiny bit of the cellulose in that) spread throughout 24 pizza bites is fine for me.
How do I store leftovers?
Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for several days.
Can Keto Sausage Pizza Bites be Frozen?
Yes! These are great for meal prep because they freeze very well. Cool them completely after cooking and store in an airtight container or freezer Ziplock bag.
How do I rewarm Keto Sausage Pizza Bites?
They can be warmed in the microwave for just 10-15 seconds per bite. Don’t overdo it.
