Crock Pot Beef Shanks make a tender, flavorful, Keto, gluten free, dairy free, Paleo meal with the ease of the crock pot. Slow cooked goodness ready at dinnertime!
Beef Shanks; what to do with them? Make Crock Pot Beef Shanks!
We got 1/4 of a cow last year and I loved having it in the freezer. The steaks, roasts, stew meat and ground beef were easy to use. Cuts like beef shanks though? Hmm, I have never bought them or tried to prepare them.
I looked through many recipes online and really did not find one that I wanted to try. A recipe must be two things for me; it must look yummy, of course, but it also must not have weird things in it or have difficult steps. It has to be easy!
I found Slow Cooker Beef Shanks from delicious obsessions and it looked like something I could adapt to make work for us. It did! I followed the basic procedure, making that a bit more simple and deleted some ingredients while changing others. The end result was very delicious and moist beef shanks.
There is a lot of bone and fat in them so 6 pounds does not go as far as 6 pounds of steak or ground beef would.

it's just me but I bought two of these today. How long would I put those in the crockpot for same time?

Hi Kelly, I would reduce the other ingredients to half as much but still cook them for close or the same amount of time; 6-8 hours on low. I hope you enjoy them! :) ~Cindy
