82 Freezer Meal Prep Low Carb Keto Tips and Recipes; Simple tips for a stocked freezer to make meal prep and healthy eating easy!
I have 82 Freezer Meal Prep Low Carb Keto Tips and Recipes for you and you will love them!
I have gathered lots of tips to help you stock your freezer the easiest way possible.
With 82 Freezer Meal Prep Low Carb Keto Tips and Recipes, you have all you need to succeed.
You can do this!
First, some tips:
~Do chicken one day, beef and pork other days. Maybe do one soup with each meat group. If you work a few hours once a week, you will have a freezer full in no time!
~Do what is on sale. Are there good chicken sales this week? It is the week for stocking up on chicken meals!
~You want freezer Ziploc bags, not storage ones. They do make a difference in the freshness of your meal.
~Some things call for 2 bags. Put both of them in a larger gallon Ziploc and label the outer bag.
~When wrapping casseroles, first wrap in plastic wrap and then foil. The plastic keeps tomato based things from eating through the foil and the foil is easier to write on (BEFORE it is hot or cold).
Also, 2 layers is always better for freezing.
~When freezing, always make sure the food is thoroughly cooled before putting in the freezer. This reduces condensation and freezer burn.
~Frozen individual servings are great to have on hand when the family is ordering something you don’t want to eat or it is just simpler to give them a carbier meal you don’t want.

Breakfast
Tips
When freezing egg dishes, make sure the eggs are totally set (not runny) and then completely cooled before freezing. Wrap them well.
Casseroles can be frozen whole or in individual portions.
Pancakes freeze well. I just put a serving in a Ziploc sandwich bag and freeze.
If you want to pull out one pancake at a time, freeze them individually on a baking sheet (affiliate link) and then transfer to bags or a container.

Soups
Tips
Soups are so easy to make a huge batch of and freeze.
Freeze them in a large container for a family meal or in individual sized containers.
I just love having my freezer full of different soups to pull out.
Most soups freeze just fine.
A cheese or cream based soup may separate some when thawed but I have had no problem just giving it a good stir and warming it back up to blend it together again. They still taste great but the consistency may be undesirable to some.
If you are not sure of a certain kind, freeze just one portion to see if you like it.

Beef
Tips
When cooking a pound of ground beef or sausage for a dish, cook as many pounds as you have and can fit in your pan. You can get 5 pounds of cooked meat for pulling the pan out and washing it one time instead of five times! Score!
The remaining meat can be frozen in 1 pound containers for dumping into a recipe later; so easy!
I also do this with taco meat; cook a bunch and freeze in small portions.
I love to cook ground beef, wipe out the pan, cook sausage, wipe out the pan and cook taco meat; 5 pounds each at a time in my electric skillet (affiliate link) and now I have 15 pounds of ready to go meat! Woo-Hoo!!
I do it in that order so my sausage and ground meat doesn’t taste like taco meat.
I have ground beef cooked and ready to dump into Low Carb Crock Pot Chili, Low Carb Stuffed Peppers, Freezer Spaghetti or Pizza Sauce, Low Carb Hamburger Pie or Low Carb Beefy Cabbage Soup.
Taco meat ready to go makes taco night, Keto Cheesy Taco Beef Casserole, Low Carb Taco Salad or Low Carb Taco Pie so easy!
See the Pork section for sausage ideas.
Meats freeze well. If it calls for any marinating, that is the perfect spot to freeze instead of just putting it in the refrigerator for a few hours.
Freezing and thawing in the marinade makes the meat even more tender.
Shredded meat in a liquid freezes well.
Some main dishes are better cooked and then frozen and some are better frozen before cooking.
Those marked with ** are frozen raw. It is easy to choose several of these to put together at the same time to stock up your freezer with ready to cook meals.
They are very quick to assemble and pop into the freezer. When I make the ones that are best frozen after cooking, it is easy to make a big batch for dinner and then freeze the rest.

do you have nutrition info on these? I put the recipe for beefy cabbage soup through a nutrition counter and it says that cabbage soup has 62 grams of carbs per serving and only 8 grams of fiber, so its definitely not low carb or keto. unless Im doing something wrong?

Hi Brittany, Wow, yes, that is incorrect nutritional informaion for that recipe! Maybe the one you looked at had rice or another starch added? Here is a link to what My Fitness Pal gives mine and it lines up with what I calculated using the ingredients I used. It is calculated getting 8 servings but I think it may even be more servings, depending on serving size, which would make the carb count even less than 8 net carbs per serving. I will add this to the Low Carb Beefy Cabbage Soup page. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/view/125221657751101
