Low Carb Hamburger Pie is easy to make, great for meal prep and something the whole family will like!
Low Carb Hamburger Pie is a satisfying low carb meal that is easy to put together and reheats well.
Leftovers are great the next day for lunch!
This is a perfect meal prep recipe to be made ahead for the week or even frozen ahead.
Serve with mustard and low carb ketchup and a salad for a family friendly meal kids and adults both love.
I adjusted the recipe from White Castle Hamburger Pie to fill a 9X13 baking dish instead of a small pie pan. We love the leftovers from this so that was just not enough.
I also use homemade onion soup mix. It is very easy to mix up, cheaper and better for us too.
The pan you see in the pictures is traveling with us on vacation so we have a home cooked, yummy meal to eat away from home. 🙂
Ingredients for Low Carb Hamburger Pie:
3 pounds cooked ground beef
2 packets onion soup mix or 8 Tbsp homemade
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup heavy cream
16 oz shredded cheddar cheese
to taste salt and pepper
Instructions for Low Carb Hamburger Pie:
Gather your ingredients. Using precooked ground beef is a great time saver.
Add ground beef, the onion soup mix and 8 oz of the cheese to a bowl and mix well.
Put into greased 9 X 13 baking dish.
Spread the other 8 oz of cheese over beef mixture.
Combine eggs, mayonnaise and cream in a bowl.
Pour over meat and cheese mixtures.
It may not go exactly edge to edge and fill every bit of surface and that is ne. It will fill in as it cooks.
Bake uncovered in preheated 350* oven for 30 minutes or until top is done. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
