Cabbage and Smoked Sausage is so easy to cook in this electric skillet. It washes up so easily and is big enough to hold plenty of dinner. It is an excellent tool for meal prepping large batches!

I love this combo. I boil sausage first while cooking cabbage and onion with about half cup cider vinegar and a quarter cup brown sugar and add 1 tsp. carraway seed. Thanks for reminding me of perfect comfort food.

I made this twice this week. Yesterday I added six cooked crumbled pieces of bacon and I browned my sausage(smoked pork and alligator sausage)first. Mid way I added a 1/2 cup of chicken stock to help it steam the cabbage a little more.

I made this, but I leave out the butter and add applesauce instead. Lots less calories.

Who would have guessed something so simple would be so good! Amazingly good just the way the recipe's written - no need to change a thing (although I did add a bit of hot sauce.) Will have this often!

I can't wait to try this, but I think 8 oz. of butter is 2 sticks. I think 4 oz. is one stick?? I bet the recipe only needs one stick, right? Also, I'm going to try this with a bagged cole slaw mix so I don't have to chop the cabbage!

Hi Susan, 8oz of butter is just one stick. Yes, one stick is plenty. :) Sure, bagged cole slaw mix would work. Just don't cook it long. It will cook very fast since it is chopped very thin. I hope you enjoy! :)
